Lila Wells started her career as a professional dancer at the Tivoli Theatre in Melbourne and had toured throughout Australia and overseas with the company. 

 

Lila started the Wells School of Dance in 1973 at a church hall in Sandringham, Lila became a member of the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing now known as Comdance. Lilas 2 daughters, Vikki and Lisa, helped her to run the school and teach dance to many students who came through the school. 

 

The Wells School of Dance is now under the direction of Lilas Granddaughter Taylah Edwards. Taylah had grown up within the dance school and is so proud to be able to take the Wells School of Dance into its next chapter.

The Wells School of Dance is proud to be able to call itself one of the longest running schools in Melbourne. We have taught and mentored 1000’s of students and 3 generations of families to dance. Many of our students been successful in becoming professional dancers in stage shows, cruise ship contracts,  and shows in UK/Europe Asia and various other countries around the world.
